The Clare Town Lions now have three teams regularly playing in the Colchester and District Youth League. These are the Under 8s, Under 9s and Under 10s.

We have 5 manager/coaches with FA Coaching qualifications who hold regular training sessions in the evenings during the Summer and on Saturday mornings in the Winter. We are always looking to encourage more people to take an FA qualification to assist or run one of the teams.

Youngsters from age 5 years  to 11 old  are welcome to join in the coaching and may hopefully make the regular teams. The coaching for all children under the age of 9 is free.

Like many clubs we are entirely reliant on the goodwill of parents, friends and relatives. Apart from supporting the youngsters, they also make the teas and coffees and burgers to raise funds.

We also rely on regular fundraising and sponsorship. We are generously supported by many of the businesses in the town and beyond.

We believe in team spirit and are not looking for individual superstars but players who wish to work hard and develop their skills/technique in a disciplined structured environment. We are not a win at all  costs team but a squad of players who unite and play entertaining football for all.

We abide by the Respect Campaign and manage the team for the boys benefits not ours as coaches.
