The current U9's were originally formed in May 2022, with players as young as 4 at the club, and still with the squad today.

 

In the summer of 2025, Tony Norcliffe was appointed as manager of the now U9's, taking over from the now Chairman, taking the club from 5-a-side football into a new era of a 7-a-side team.

A Manchester City fan, Tony supported the club way back, with Peter Barnes his idol, and modern City players Foden and Haaland part of Tony's football philosophy. Tony is calm, cool and collected - rarely in a panic or a rush. The Carlo Ancelotti of Clare. 

 

The U9's Lions are currently playing in the Ipswich & Suffolk Youth Football League.
